CHALLENGES OF THE ULEMA TRAINING
First challenge - Preserve and transmit
التحدي الأول ـ الحفظ والتوريث
Abou Dawoud, At Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah and Ibn hibban – as well as others-
report that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
" And certainly the ‘Ulama are the heirs of the Prophets. The Prophets did not leave behind gold and silver coins rather they left behind Knowledge. Whoever has acquired it, really he has acquired a great share”
روى أبو داود والترمذي وابن ماجه وابن حبان في صحيحه وغيرهم أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال في ضمن حديث طويل:” إن العلماء ورثة الأنبياء وإن الأنبياء لم يورِّثوا دينارًا ولا درهمًا، إنَّما ورَّثوا العلم فمن أخذَه أخذ بحظٍّ وافر،
Second challenge - Excellent mastery of sciences
التحدي الثاني ـ إتقان ممتاز
Al-Boukhari reported in his sahih (n°100, pg.115) that ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr ibn al-’As (may Allah be pleased with him) said :
« I heard Allah's Apostle (salallahu ‘alayhi wa salam) saying :
"Allah does not take away the knowledge, by taking it away from (the hearts of) the people, but takes it away by the death of the religious learned men till when none of the (religious learned men) remains, people will take as their leaders ignorant persons who, when consulted, will give their verdict without knowledge. So they will go astray and will lead the people astray."
عن عبد الله بن عمرو بن العاص رضي الله عنهما قال: سمعت رسول الله صلّى الله عليه وسلّم يقول ( إن الله لا يقبض العلم انتزاعا ينتزعه من الناس ، ولكن يقبض العلم بقبض العلماء حتى إذا لم يترك عالما اتخذ الناس رؤوسا جهالا فسئلوا فأفتوا بغير علم فضلوا وأضلوا ) رواه البخاري و مسلم والترمذي وابن ماجه وأحمد والدارمي
Third challenge - Authentic understanding.
التحدي الثالث ـ فهم أصيل
«(They) will bear this science the righteous among each generation. They will reject the falsifications of the exaggerators, the pretensions of the contradictors and the interpretations of the ignorant»
The Hadith has several chains of transmission
عن عبد الله بن عمرو وأبي هريرة قالا: قال رسول الله -صلى الله عليه وسلم-: ( يحمل هذا العلم من كل خلف عدوله، ينفون عنه تحريف الغالين، وانتحال المبطلين، وتأويل الجاهلين ) . والحديث له طرق متعددة
Forth challenge - train the scholar
التحدي الرابع ـ تكوين العالم
«The scholar (العالم في الشرع) is the one who has a mastery of all the specialties so much that they are equal to him or the one who has acquired the knowledge required to be able to master all these specialties »
العالم هو من استوت عنده الفنون إلى مرتبة يعلمها أو صالحا لأن يعلمها.
و هو ينقسم إلى قسمين :عالم بالفعل و عالم بالقوة. فالعالم بالفعل هو الذي درس هذه العلوم و درسها و أحاط بها. والعالم بالقوة هو الذي أمسك بمآخذها و أصبح قادرا على الازدياد منه
